Job Description

Depending on business needs shift will either be 8 or 10 hour.

DESCRIPTION

Under direct supervision of the Urology nurse manager, Urology nurse supervisor and the general supervision of the clinic providers and licensed nursing staff, this RN position will be responsible for phone symptom triage, appointment scheduling, referral assessment, care coordination, pre/post hospital and procedural follow up with Urology patients, as part of our growing patient-centered Care Navigation Hub. Additionally, this position will be trained to assist with all in clinic procedures, nurse visits, and any patient management needs in the clinical area. This position will be split between telephone triage and hands on nursing care in the clinic.

This RN will also provide coverage for sick calls, vacation, and messaging coverage for the urology clinic team. The RN needs to have strong clinical and communication skills to collaborate and coordinate with health care teams in ensuring optimal care for patients and families in a busy outpatient Urology clinic. Must have the ability to provide an excellent experience for our patients, providers, and team members in a virtual and clinic environment.

Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.

  • RN License issued by the State of California.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years active RN experience.

  • Ability to perform triage and handle critical and/or urgent situations with accuracy, expediency and speed, accuracy and tact.

  • Recent experience with Urology nursing skills such catheter management, bladder irrigations, injections, assessments, procedure set up, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSN.
  • ACLS and/or ART.
  • Ambulatory Care experience.
  • Previous telephone triage experience.
  • Acute care experience: med/surg, ED.
  • AIDET or other customer service training experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on the Medical Center's business needs.
  • Need to be flexible on days and hours worked including some weekends.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $170,485 - $170,485 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $81.65 - $81.65

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
