Registered Nurse, Urgent Care

Job Description

REGISTERED NURSE, URGENT CARE, MIT Health, to provide nursing care to the patient population of an assigned service area.  Will provide direct patient care according to age-specific plans of care within the scope of the practice of a registered nurse; perform nursing duties using the principles of telephone and waiting room triage; utilize established guidelines to respond to each patient’s needs; and play a critical role in providing health education, supportive counseling, and clinical outreach to the MIT community in collaboration with other individuals or services at MIT Health.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; graduation from an accredited nursing program; at least three years of experience as a registered nurse in an urgent care or emergency department; current RN license in Massachusetts; basic life support (BLS) certification; fluency with EMR systems (Cerner preferred); ability to easily access data, interpret age-specific needs, and provide nursing care in collaboration with others; and experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access. PREFERRED:  advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.  Job #24332-9

Must be available to work three twelve-hour shifts and one four-hour shift per week. Every third week, there is a weekend requirement and the schedule shifts accordingly.
